Guide to using the Highlight on a web article
Watch Live Demo of Highlight (on web articles) feature here.
Highlighting a web article is an intriguing feature integrated into Maika Extension's Context Menu. To keep it concise, we'll refer to it as 'Highlight' throughout this article.
This feature works much like highlighting a paragraph with a marker. The key difference is that Highlight operates directly on web articles, allowing you to mark text quickly and directly even when you can't edit the article. Plus, only you can see the text you've highlighted.
The highlighted text is then saved in Maika AI's cloud storage, making it effortlessly accessible for reviewing and managing. When you revisit the URL of the article, your marked positions remain intact until you decide to remove them.
Highlight is an extremely valuable tool for individuals working in the online environment, especially content creators, researchers, and online learners who deal with information synthesis and filtering.
Maika Extension's Highlight feature can be considered a technological take on note-taking, thanks to its notable advantages:
Mark and emphasize important information directly on the page without needing additional tabs or software for manual note-taking.
All your insights and noteworthy excerpts are gathered in one place - Maika AI's cloud storage - eliminating the need to search through various note-taking apps or rack your brain to remember the names of saved note files.
Both the excerpts and their associated URLs are saved, facilitating easy source citation when needed, especially beneficial for research topics.
Notes on Highlight: This feature allows you to add your own comments and notes to the highlighted text, customizing your annotations for better recall.
Select the text block you wish to annotate or highlight.
When you perform this action, Maika Extension's Context Menu will appear.
Select the Highlight feature from the Context Menu.
Choose the background color you want to apply to the text's fill.
The highlighted text will be saved to Maika Cloud.
The excerpt will be stored along with the URL and thumbnail of the article, making it easy for you to search and navigate to the original page if needed.
You can view the number of notes displayed under the article's thumbnail.
To review notes, click on the thumbnail image of the article.
Actions you can perform with notes.
When you hover over a saved note, a submenu will appear.
With this menu, you can perform actions such as:
Copy the note's content (the highlighted excerpt) for pasting elsewhere.
Change the background color of the highlighted text.
Add comments to the highlighted text as notes.
Delete notes from Maika Cloud. Deleting a note will also remove the applied background color from the corresponding text.
Note: After deletion, you won't be able to undo this action.
