The operation of credits and features following subscription cancellation
1. After canceling your subscription package, when will the credits be used until?
If you are unfamiliar with credits, please learn more here.
1.1. In case you are using only one subscription plan
When you cancel the subscription plan, the remaining credits will be valid until the end of your current billing cycle. For instance, if you subscribe to a plan on January 1st and cancel it on January 25th, the remaining credit balance will remain valid until before February 1st.
1.2. In case you have two subscription plans
If you are using both subscription plans - the Web-app and Mobile-app plans - canceling each subscription will have different implications as follows:
Cancel the Web-app plan while keeping the Mobile-app plan: You will not be able to use the website features, and the remaining credit can only be used for Maika AI on your phone.
Cancel the Mobile-app plan while keeping the Web-app plan: All features on the website and the phone will remain unaffected. The remaining credit can continue to be used on both the website and the phone.
Cancel both plans (on the phone and website): Credits will expire at the end of the billing cycle of the longer subscription. For example, if you subscribed to the Mobile-app package on January 1st and the Web-app package on January 5th, and then canceled both on January 15th, your credits will remain valid until before February 5th.
2. When canceling and re-subscribing, how will it be calculated?
The system will handle different cases differently. Specifically, as follows:
2.1. Case 1: After canceling a plan, you have no other active plans. Then, you re-subscribe within the validity period of the old plan.
Suppose you subscribed to a package on January 1st and canceled it on January 25th, then re-subscribed on January 28th. According to the convention, your credit balance will still be valid until January 31st. Therefore, the system will consider this as a reactivation of the subscription.
You will not be charged at the time of re-subscription; instead, charges will occur at the beginning of the billing cycle as before (meaning charges will occur on February 1st).
You will receive additional credits at the start of the next billing cycle, the amount of which depends on the package you re-subscribed to.
The features you can use also depend on the package you re-subscribed to.
This applies similarly to the 6-month subscription package.
2.2. Case 2: After canceling a plan, you have no other active plans. Then, you re-subscribe after the old plan has expired.
Suppose you subscribed to a package on January 1st and canceled it on January 25th, then re-subscribed on February 3rd. According to the convention, your credit balance is only valid until January 31st. Therefore, the system will consider this as a new subscription.
The old credit balance becomes invalid, and you will receive new credits immediately upon re-subscription, the amount of which depends on the plan you re-subscribed to.
The subscription package price will be calculated at the time of re-subscription, and the subscription cycle will start on the 3rd of each month.
The features you can use also depend on the package you re-subscribed to.
This applies similarly to the 6-month subscription package.
2.3. Case 3: After canceling a plan, you still have at least 1 valid plan. Then, you cancel the current plan to switch to a different one.
Suppose you are using two concurrent subscription packages - the Web-app and Mobile-app plans. You subscribed to the Mobile-app plan on January 1st, then added a Web-app plan on January 5th. On January 15th, you canceled one of the two subscriptions. In this case:
The remaining credits will be entirely used for the active subscription.
The subscription cycle will be calculated based on the active subscription.
At the start of the new cycle, you will receive additional credits, the quantity of which depends on the active subscription.
The features you can use also depend on the active subscription.
If you subsequently cancel the active subscription and switch to a different one, you may consider Case 1 or Case 2.
